At XBT, we've built a music platform where users can discover new and under-appreciated artists. Therefor we strictly prohibit commercial artists on our platform. Only independent, unsigned, local, garage-band type artists are allowed. Violators will have their song(s) and profile deleted.
Plays & Likes Are Bad Metrics:
Traditional music platforms rank songs by number of plays, downloads or likes. Ranking songs by plays and likes is fundamentally flawed as both can be easily faked by either the listener to boost artist plays, or by the platform to hide/decrease payouts.
Provably Ranked:
Unlike traditional music platforms we use the Bitcoin blockchain to create a proofed ranking system. Every song is assigned a never-before-used unique bitcoin address. Songs that receive the most funds will rank the highest. Rankings cannot be faked because they are publicly verifiable on the blockchain, and payments can't be withheld from artists because addresses are artist-provided.
100% Funds to Artists:
Bitcoin addresses assigned to songs are provided by the artists themselves to allow a zero-trust direct Listener-to-Artist model (L2A). XBT never receives, transfers, or otherwise facilitates transactions. If XBT disappeared tomorrow artists would still have their funds.
